What does it include and how to book a visit to the excavations of Pompeii?
To avoid long queues at the entrance (especially on weekends and in summer) it is advisable to purchase tickets online. At the entrance you will receive a free map. Audio guides in different languages are also available.

What is forbidden to do in Pompeii?
Visitors to the Pompeii Excavations are required to observe decent behavior.
The use of drones without authorization is prohibited.
How to dress to visit Pompeii?
We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes especially if you want to do the whole route.
You can use a small backpack with the minimum necessary (e.g. a bottle that you can fill in the various fountains).
Is the wardrobe present?
Free luggage storage is available in all entrances. It is forbidden to introduce on the site bags, backpacks, luggage, larger than 30x30x15cm.
Are the excavations accessible to wheelchair users?
Yes, most of the routes have been revised to allow for wheelchair rides. However, some paths have uneven terrain. We recommend asking for information at the entrance on which routes are recommended to be easily walked in a wheelchair.
Can animals enter the excavations of Pompeii?
Small pets are allowed on a leash.
Is it possible to eat in the excavation area?
Inside the archaeological site there is a bar/ restaurant. There are also many fountains with drinking water. Near the park, near the motorway grill, there is a medical facility.
Inside the site you can stop in some areas marked for lunch.
It is not possible to eat around and organize private lunches or dinners, except in the case of institutional initiatives.
How to visit the excavations with children?
Walking along the ancient streets of Pompeii with a stroller is not easy. For this reason there is a specially marked route on the map for people in wheelchairs. Parents with strollers could take the same route.
In the archaeological site there are also some Baby Points where you can change the diaper and breastfeed babies in absolute privacy.
